Program Development Director for Initiatives of Change-USA
Reports to: National Director
In order to build a healthy and sustainable future for the organization, Initiatives of Change – USA (IofC) seeks a Program Development Director to increase its capacity to promote, manage, and deliver its trustbuilding programs and strengthen its financial base.

Responsibilities:
The Program Development Director will be responsible for the development and promotion of IofC’s programs and fundraising for the organization. He/she will work primarily out of the national office in Richmond, VA. The following are the duties of this position and the approximate allocations of time spent on these duties:
- Review and re-design the development strategy and program integration for IofC-USA. (10%)
- Nurture relationships with existing and prospective donors with the goal of growing contributions to the annual campaign and specific programs, and create opportunities for engagement (30%)
- Strengthen existing institutional partnerships and explore creative new connections and collaborations. (10%)
- Oversee creation of materials to market IofC programs. (5%)
- Market training and other programs to the corporate community as well as national organizations, businesses, universities, and faith communities. (10%)
- Research new grants opportunities that match IofC’s areas of expertise. (10%)
- Write grant applications. (10%)
- Develop evaluation tools with metrics that funders want. (5%)
- Staff the Development Committee of the Board and liaise with the Board on other fundraising activities. (10%)
Qualifications:
The ideal Program Development Officer will be experienced and skilled in program development and fundraising. He/she will have outstanding “people skills” and will be comfortable working with diverse groups and will be a good team builder. He/she will have excellent writing and speaking ability. He/she will be comfortable with common software programs.
He/she will be familiar with national organizations working in areas of racial dialogue, racial healing and equity, interreligious dialogue, and conflict resolution in the United States. He/she will also be familiar with potential donors for these types of programs.
The Program Development Officer will have a strong personal spiritual foundation and a commitment to the core principles and vision of Initiatives of Change.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required. Master’s degree preferred. At least 5 years of experience in program development and management, fundraising, marketing, or related professions, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
US citizenship required.
