HOPE IN THE CITIES PROGRAMS
Metropolitan Richmond Dialogues
An intensive weekend dialogue for people seeking to become better public policy advocates.
Dialogues for Change
Building Trust Across Divides of Race, Class and Culture
Come and join us for Hope in the Cities’ series of strategic dialogues on metropolitan Richmond issues. Highly trained facilitators will lead a two-day dialogue for 15 participants over a 10 hour period.
Our goal is to increase our capacity as a community to interact across divides of race, class and jurisdiction.
The dialogues will address two critical questions:
•How can the region reconcile longstanding historical and cultural differences that undermine trust, breed caution and prevent needed initiatives?
•How can we build relationships of trust across divides of race, class, and jurisdiction in order to benefit our entire region?
The curriculum is based on both an academic and experiential learning model. The focus is on enhanced regional cooperation with an emphasis on understanding historical events that have led to present realities.
Ultimately participants will learn to build collaborative strategies to take our region into the future.
